Guillermo "Mano" Barberena III, 62, passed away Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016. Celebration of life: Noon Saturday at his residence. Memorials: The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the charity of your choice in his name. Mano was a loving and devoted husband and father. He spent his career as a high school math teacher with the Fort Worth ISD, helping shape the minds of his students with his dedication and influence, encouraging thinking outside the box and pushing high expectations. As an educator, he received numerous awards including the Tandy Scholar Award. He was an avid hiker and enjoyed the outdoors, especially working on his property. Survivors: Parents, Guillermo and Doris Barberena; wife of 43 years, Linda Barberena; son, David (Diana); daughter, Lauren (Daniel); grandchildren, Emma and Alex Barberena to whom he was known as "Dude"; sister, Maria; brothers, Ricardo, Mark and David; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
