Ruby Lucille Siler was called to her heavenly home at the age of 93 on February 15, 2016 at 3:40 am at Bethel Pointe Rehab Center in Muncie, Indiana. She was born on February 20, 1922 in Fowler, Indiana. Lucy attended Kokomo High School graduating in 1941.

Lucille married Robert (Bob) J. Siler on August 7, 1949 and had 30 years of happy marriage before his passing in February 1979. While Bob served his country in World War II, she worked at Stellite in Kokomo and ultimately retired from Aetna Insurance Company in Indianapolis. Lucille loved and was deeply devoted to Bob and never remarried after his passing. She travelled extensively with Bob and enjoyed the sights and sounds of many destinations including a Caribbean Cruise, Hawaii, Alaska, and Europe. After Bob’s passing she found peace in golfing and needlework and took great pride in volunteering over 12,000 hours at St. Joseph’s Hospital of Kokomo. In January 1990 she was chosen “Older Hoosier”,

Lucille is survived by her son, Carl R. Siler and daughter in-law Lynn Currens-Siler of Muncie; and her daughter, Cindy Siler-Klein of Peru and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Siler; parents, Fred and Pearl (McNeely) Summers; siblings, Richard Summers, Bill Summers and Maxine (Pee Wee) Groves.

Lucille loved spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. All of her five grandchildren survive her, Don (Amanda) Siler, Laurie Siler, James (Treyla) Elliot, Sean Elliott, and Amanda Elliott; 14 great-grandchildren, Whitney, Courtnee, Chase, Chloe, Kyle, Megan, Dylan, Gavin, Aiden, Brandon, Alyssa, Zachary, Jared, and Logan.

There will be a private graveside service at Sunset Memory Gardens, Kokomo, where she will be laid to rest next to the love of her life, Bob Siler.
