Peter P. Kraskouskas, 101, of Gardner, died peacefully at his home on February 15, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.

Peter was born in Coalton, West Virginia, a son of the late Joseph and Karolinas (Bulovas) Kraskouskas. Moving from West Virginia at age 10; he has lived his remaining 91 years in Gardner.

Peter is a 1933 graduate of Gardner High School, where he was a member of the Gardner High swim/dive team. Peter later attended and graduated from the Automobile Trade School in Detroit Michigan.

He proudly served his country during World War II as a Motor Machinist First Class with the United States Navy in the Pacific Theatre.

He was the owner and operator of Pete's Auto Service in South Gardner for over 40 years. Peter was a founder and longtime member of Holy Spirit Church in South Gardner, and a founding member of the South Gardner Golf Association. He was a lifetime member of the Ovila Case Post 905 VFW of Gardner, the Napoleon Club in Gardner, Gardner Golden Age Club and the Lithuanian Outing Association of Gardner. Peter was an avid golfer and a long time member of Gardner Municipal Golf Course and Westminster Country Club. He enjoyed bowling in many candlepin and ten pin leagues. For several years he maintained his own bee hives extracting and bottling his own honey. He enjoyed a good game of cards and spent his years traveling across North America. Peter greatly enjoyed hosting the South Gardner Golf Association outings at his home for many years.

Peter will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 71 years, Lauretta (Peters) Kraskouskas, three children; Robert Kraskouskas and his wife Ellen of Succasunna, NJ, Ann Twohig of Norfolk, MA, and Paul Kraskouskas and his wife Gail of Kernesvile, NC, his three grandchildren; Elissa Blanchard and her husband Bryan, Justin Kraskouskas, and Melissa Kraskouskas, three great-grandchildren; Aiden, Bree, and Mazie Blanchard, and nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his two brothers Anthony and John Kraskouskas, his sister Amelia Gurglis, and his son in-law; Patrick Twohig.

ARRANGEMENTS:
You are invited to attend visiting hours in the Lamoureux Fletcher and Smith Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner, on Friday February 19, 2016 from 5-8pm. His Funeral will be held from the Funeral Home on Saturday February 20, 2016 at 10am, with a Funeral Mass in Holy Spirit Church, Lovewell St., South Gardner, beginning at 11am.

Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, West St. Gardner.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Salvation Army, 25 Shawmut Road, Canton, MA 02021 or The Animal League of Green Valley, 1600 West Duval Mine Road, Green Valley, AZ 85614 in Memory of Peter P. Kraskouskas.
