Passed away at Franciscan St. Elizabeth in Crawfordsville.
Son of George O. and Hollis K. Wilson Barker.
Married Mary E. Hughes of Veedersburg in 1957. She survives.
Also surviving are brother James (Pat) Barker; special niece and nephew Carla and Jim Whitehead; nieces Cindy (Allen) Jeffries, Vanessa Homsher, Vicki Rush and Michelle (Rick) Daniel; nephews Scott (Jackie) Hughes, Larry Thomas and Matt McDonald.
1945 graduate of Waynetown High School.
He played on the 1944 Basketball team which traveled to the Semi-State and was in the first class of inductees to the Montgomery County Basketball Hall of Fame.
He attended Purdue University where he played freshman baseball under coach Hank Stram and with Moose Skowran.
U S Army veteran of the Korean war.
Worked in the office of Tru Lay Block Company for 32 years.
Attended Waynetown Baptist Church.
He was a 50 year member of the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge.
Had a long-time interest in North Montgomery and Purdue Sports, making long vacation trips to follow Purdue basketball and football.
Services 2pm Thursday, February 18th at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Raffignone officiating. Visitation noon until time of service. Military Rites will be conducted at the funeral home by the Crawfordsville VFW and American Legion Posts Honor Guard and the U. S. Army.
