Westfield – Alfred G Avery, 77, of 8 Summer St., retired lumberjack for various lumber companies, died Saturday in Noble Hospital. Born in Montgomery, he lived here most of his life. He leaves his wife, the former Clara Farnsworth; four sons, three daughters; two brothers, Ernest and George, both of Westfield, two sisters, Alice Roach and Evelyn Young, both of Westfield; 21 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The funeral was Monday at Healey-Pease Funeral Home with burial in Middle Farm Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
