Rena Barnard, 93, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Strafford Care Center. Rena was born October 22, 1922 north of Rogersville. She was the only child of Carroll and Verna (Shelby) Barnard, who preceded her in death. Rena received her education at Panther Valley grade school and Rogersville High School. Rena and her parents lived on the Shelby farm in the Panther Valley area, moving to east of Springfield in 1951. She was a member of First Baptist Church - Strafford and a former member of North Star Baptist Church. Rena is survived by an aunt, Retha (Barnard) McDowell (and husband Richard) and numerous cousins, neighbors and friends. Rena loved gardening and raising flowers and her beloved pet birds and dogs.
Internment at Panther Valley Cemetery north of Rogersville.
