Alice R. Garcia, 90, of Houston, Texas passed away on February 17, 2016. She was born on July 13, 1925 in Wharton, TX to Jesus and Dionicia Reyes.

Alice is preceded in death by husband Macario Garcia, Congressional Medal of Honor recipient WWII, US Army.

She is survived by her son Carlos Robert Garcia, wife Leslie, grandchildren Carlos Macario and Alicia Estrella; daughter Maria Theresa Cook and husband Richard; son Rene' Gustavo Garcia as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews and brother and sister-in-laws.

Alice was known for her wonderful cooking (the best fruitcakes in the world and often fought over), handmade crafts and her love for animals. She was a kind woman with a huge heart and her strong faith in our Lord helped her to live a long and happy life and to mold a strong bond within her family.

Visitation will take place on Monday, February 22 from 5:00–9:00PM with a rosary at 7:00PM. Funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, February 23 at 10AM. All services will take place in the Grand Chapel of Forest Park Lawndale. Interment will immediately follow in Houston National Cemetery.
