Roy Anderson married Agnes Laurie Teal on June 4, 1913, in Elkhart, Indiana. They have four boys and one girl: Ralph, Emmett, Lee, Laura, and Frank.

He worked as an automotive engineer in Detroit. He was employed by several companies, and finally retired from Fisher Body Corporation in 1946.

He and his wife Agnes were good friends with Marvin and Corinne Steele. This latter couple had a son, Harry John Steele, who had served in the U.S. Army in WWII, and was married to Kay. Harry and Kay lived in Florida.

Roy's wife, Agnes, died in 1943. Marvin Steel died within the next few years. Roy remarried Corinne Phillips Steele around 1948, in his home at 14140 Grandmont Road, Detroit. She was a comfort to the family. There were no children born to this second marriage. She died in 1965.
