He was preceded by his beloved wife, Helen Marion Burchfield.
He is succeeded by the children, Rick Burchfield and Diane, of Maryville, Capt. Jeffrey S. Burchfield, of Maryville, Sharon L. Artman and Carla, of Kodak, and Susan D. Artman-Krafft and Buzz, of Atlanta; grandchildren, Shane Burchfield, Lou Burchfield, Shanna Davis, and Tabby Grover; thirteen great-grandchildren.
Mr. Burchfield, a lifelong resident of Blount County, was retired after a distinguished 37 year career in the Air Force, a veteran of the Korean War and the Berlin conflict, and as Purchasing Agent at McGhee Tyson for the Air National Guard.
A private memorial will be held for the family. Donations may be made to VFW Post 5154 or the Wounded Warrior Project in his memory.
