Mrs. Edythe Collins Keeney, age 86, of Dallas, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Kennestone Hospital.
Mrs. Edythe Keeney was born in Cartersville on June 10, 1927, to loving parents the late Mr. J.M. Collins and Mrs. Lizzie Mundy Collins. She was also preceded in death by her son Mr. Michael D. Hall; three brothers; and two sisters.
Edythe loved spending time with her family especially her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She enjoyed being outdoors working with her flowers and gardening. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years Mr. Harold Keeney of Dallas; six children Mr. & Mrs. Dave (Sheila) Girgenti of Woodstock, Mr. & Mrs. Sammy (Tracy) Hall of Ranger, Mr. & Mrs. Tony (Debbie) Hall of Dallas, Mr. & Mrs. Michael (Tami) Ingram of Dallas, Mr. & Mrs. Renee (Wanda) Keeney of Cartersville, and Mr. & Mrs. Rick (Cheryl) Mason of Cartersville; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one daughter in law Mrs. Nancy Hall of Cartersville; two sisters in law Mrs. Mae Collins Lamanac and Mrs. Hazel Collins both of Dallas; several nieces, nephews, and many other beloved relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Edythe Keeney will be held at Piney Grove Baptist Church on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 2 pm with Reverend Larry Davis officiating. She will lie in state from 1 – 2 pm. James Hall, Shannon Hall, Troy Hall, Isaac Hall, Montana Ingram, and Greg Mason will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 7, 2013 from 4 – 9 pm and Friday, November 8, 2013 from 9 am until 12 noon.
