He was born February 27, 1921, in Wayne County, West Virginia, a son of the late Rard and Effie Adkins. He was also preceded in death by his only sister, Goldie Ferguson and a great-grandson, Thomas Conley II. He is survived by his wife, Goldie Perry Adkins; three sons, Ronald Keith Adkins of Stafford, Va., Mackie Lee Adkins and his wife Teresa of Detroit, Mich., and Timothy Allen Adkins and his wife Myra of East Lynn; six grandchildren, Eric Adkins of Virginia, Kristin and Kevin of Detroit, Alberta of East Lynn, Jason Rose of Huntington, W.Va., and Heather Conley of Salt Rock, W.Va.; five great-grandchildren, Ashley and Nicki of Michigan, David of Virginia, Destini and Isiah of Huntington.
He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was a deacon in the Woodhaven Worship Center in Woodhaven, Mich., before coming back to West Virginia. He was a mason in the Dearborn Michigan Lodge and was 32 degree mason in the Scottish Rites. He was a member of Bethlehem United Baptist Church and he retired from the Frank H. Wilson Machine Company. The family would like to thank everyone involved with the care of Mack over the past several years.
