Mrs. Virginia Loretta Ackerman, age 75, passed away Monday, January 14, 2002, at her home. She was born July 10, 1926, in Chicago, Ill. to John L. and Bernice K (Sadowski) Wilkie and lived in the Muskegon area most of her life. On June 15, 1967, she married Raymond Roy Ackerman in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on June 11, 1985.
She worked as a waitress for Nible-A-Scrib-Nib for 20 years and retired in 2001 after 30 years as a credit representative for J.C. Penny. She was a member of Oak Crest Church of God where she was involved with the Prison Ministry. She was also an active part of the "Widows Club" of J.C. Penny.
