Carole was born December 28, 1934 in Lima, to Brice and Margie (Keeling) who preceded her in death. On February 9, 1952 she married Jack E. Bitters who preceded her in death on December 25, 1999.
She was a member of Shawnee United Methodist Church and the Aerie Eagles #370. Carole was an avid Ohio State Football fan, and a collector of Emmett Kelly memorabilia. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include: A Son, Gregory V. (Shelly) Bitters of Lafayette; Four Daughters, Cheryl J.(Larry) Hohenbrink of Columbus Grove, Sharon A. (Tony) Hayes of Lima, Jackie L. (George) MacDonell of Naples, FL, Helen "Liz" (Jeff) McDaniel of Wapakoneta; Twin Sister, Constance Smith of Mohave Valley, AZ, Sister, Virginia Salas of Needles, CA; Twelve Grandchildren, and Sixteen Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: A Son, Craig Edward Bitters; A Sister, Ellen Miller and Four Brothers, Richard Mowery, Frank Miller, Michael Mowery and Gregory Mowery.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Shawnee United Methodist Church with Rev. Bryan Bucher to officiate the service, burial will follow at Shawnee Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel on Monday, February 29, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.
