Dorothy Louise Callahan, 101, of Indianapolis passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014.

She was born in Logansport, Indiana on January 18, 1913 to Edward and Cleopatra Conrad and graduated from Logansport High School in 1932. In 1939, she graduated from the Indianapolis City Hospital School of Nursing and received her Registered Nurse's License on March 1, 1940.

Dorothy married Freeman Bruce Callahan on February 26, 1941 and they were happily married for 60 years. During their marriage they lived in Indianapolis and Speedway until Freeman's retirement from Bridgeport Brass at which time they moved to Naples, Florida where they enjoyed the warm weather and pursued their hobbies of reuse and recycling. Dorothy and Freeman were known in the Naples area for their efforts to protect and clean-up the environment, as well as their generous charitable donations made with the profits from their recycling efforts.
