Alexander A. Brzozowy, 91, of Southington, died on Friday, January 17, 2014. For 65 years, he was the beloved husband of Helen (Potocny) Brzozowy who died in 2011. Born in New Britain, son of the late Alexander and Caroline (Bajek) Brzozowy, he was a lifelong city resident, moving to Southington 4 years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific Theater and in the Philippine Liberation Campaign.
Al retired from Fafnir Bearing after more than 30 years of service. He was a long time member of All Saints Church and most recently St. Jerome Church. Alexander "Pop" leaves two sons, David Summersong of Hartford, and Peter Brzozowy and his wife Mary with whom he made his home, of Southington. Al is also survived by three grandchildren Vijay Summersong, Caroline Alexis and her husband Patrick, and Nicholas Brzozowy and his wife Sarah; two great grandchildren James and Madison Brzozowy, his sister Cecilia Brzozowa and his sister-in-law Cecilia Hamilton of Sunrise FL.
