Mrs. Mary Tirk Stokes, 89, of Cochranton RD 1, died Wednesday at 10:15 am in the Spencer Hospital, Meadville. She was born Aug. 9, 1870, in Venango County, daughter, of Heister and Rachael Keeley Keith.

She was united in marriage with Harry Tirk who preceded her in death in 1903. She was united in marriage with George Stokes Jan. 20, 1907, and he died April 26, 1949.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Goldie Dilley, Franklin RD 1, and Mrs. J. C. (Edna) Hosack of Cochranton RD 1; 30 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ross Keith of Galloway, and Clifford Keith of Monaca; and a sister, Mrs. Temoy Davis of Buffalo, NY. She was preceded in death by five children, Mrs. Helen Dunlap, Mrs. Pearl Reed, Mrs. Florence McFarland, Emmett Tirk, and Park Tirk.

She formerly resided in Franklin, but made her home for the past six years with her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. J. C. Hosack, Cochranton RD 1.

Services will be at 1 pm Saturday at Burger Funeral Home with Rev. B. C. Pollock pastor of Wesleyan Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
