Owego--Funeral services for Charles F. Purple, 66, who died at his home at 144 Temple St. Sunday, will be held in Van Buskirk funeral home in Front St. today at 2 P.M. The Rev. Harry M. Savacool, pastor of the Owego Methodist Church, wil officiate. Burial will be in Tioga Cemetery.
Mr. Purple was born in Owego, Aug. 25, 1880, the son of George B. Purple and Julia Hayes Purple. He was secretary of Owego Lodge I.O.O.F. for many years; scribe of the Charles M. Haywood encampment, I.O.O.F., and secretary of Hiawatha Chemical Company, No. 4, Owego fire department. A special service was conducted by the Odd Fellow Lodge Monday night.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Camilla Russell, and one son, William E. Purple.

Charles Frederick Purple was the brother of my grandfather, Harry Jasper Purple (Sr). Other children in the family were : Nina Frances Purple, Thomas Platt Purple.
