Life Legacy

James Lee “Tank” Tabor, 73, of Bane Avenue, Princeton, died peacefully Monday morning, February 29, 2016 at Heritage Hall Nursing Facility at Rich Creek VA. Born January 25, 1943 at Brushfork, he was the son of the late James Buford Tabor and Lucille Crawford Tabor. Mr. Tabor was educated in Princeton, began working in Summersville where he started and operated the Southern State Gas Company, he then worked many years in the coal mines as a machine operator. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. Mr. Tabor loved the outdoors, especially hunting & fishing. He was devoted to his family & friends, and blessed to be saved at a very young age. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Topsy Tabor, a son, James Lee “Bub” Tabor Jr., three brothers; Frank, Charlie & Glenn Tabor, one step granddaughter, Shannon Tew, along with a daughter in law, Shelba Tabor and two brother in laws, Ronald Pritt and Charles Powell. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Thomas Tabor, three children; Terry Wayne Tabor, Joe Tabor & wife Cindy, Christina Buckland & husband Tom all of Princeton. Step children, Christopher Thomas & wife Angie, Nancy Gossett & husband Jamie, Paul Thomas & wife Pam all of Old Fort NC. One granddaughter, 6 Step grandchildren, and 19 Step Great Grandchildren. Siblings, Joyce Pritt of Beverly, Connie Bishop & husband Otis of Green Valley, Nancy Powell & Sister in law Sue Tabor of Princeton. A host of nieces and nephews,And his beloved 4 legged friend, Bella. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 4, 2016 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Pat Wheeler & Norm Arrington officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
