Dorothy M. Baines, 103, of Luzerne passed away Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, at Golden Living Center, Plains Township.

A life resident of Luzerne, Dorothy was born May 30, 1912, daughter of the late John and Anna Rosnick Bigger.

Prior to her retirement, she was a machine operator at Duplin Mill, Kingston.

She was a member of Holy Family Parish, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Luzerne Volunteer Fire Department and the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 283, Kingston.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Cyril Baines; brothers, Bernard, John Jr. and Gerald Bigger; and sister, Anna Baines.

Surviving are her niece, Margaret Marek, Sweet Valley; nephew, John R. Bigger III, Dallas; great-nephews, Mr. and Mrs. David Kachmarsky and Mr. and Mrs. John Bigger IV; great-nieces, Damar Kachmarsky, Dorothy (Dodie) Kachmarsky and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Warnagiris; and 11 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday from Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, 568 Bennett St., Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, Luzerne.

Interment will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Pringle.
