"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 37, No 41, p 5, Oct. 13, 1881.

In Berlin, N. Y., Sept. 29, 1881, Mrs. Sarah E. Davis, daughter of Hawley and Esther Satterlee, and wife of Asa C. Davis, aged 51 years, 7 months, and 3 days. Sister Davis, when about eighteen years of age was converted to Christ, and was baptized by Eld. J. L. Scott, became a member of the Berlin Seventh-day Baptist Church, and continued such till removed by death. For several years her circumstances were such as to afford her but few public religious privileges, yet she never entirely lost her interest in things of religion. As the end approached she expressed great confidence of her acceptance with her Savior, and even after speech failed her, by gesture, pointer her husband and children to the unfading treasure of the Christian believer. She was buried Sabbath-day, October 1. Eld. J. L. Huffman, who was with us holding a series of revival meetings, preached her funeral discourse to a large and attentive audience, from words found in John 6: 68. "Lord, to whom shall we go?"
