Arthur C. Sterner

A funeral service was conducted in the Chamberlin Funeral Home here Tuesday for Arthur C. Sterner, a prominent Dansville and Wayland area farmer.

Mr. Sterner died in his home at 203 Granger Rd., Wayland on Saturday morning (Dec. 8, 1973) at the age of 80.

He was born in Dansville and lived most of his life in the Wayland area where he owned and operated a farm.

He was a director and former secretary of the Livingston-Steuben Patrons Cooperative Fire Insurance Co. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Dansville; the Dansville Grange; and Phoenix Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Nettie; two daughters, Mrs. Harriet Curtin of West Seneca and Mrs. Mary Jane Borchers of Virginia Beach, Va.; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville.

Mrs. Nettie A. Sterner

A service was conducted Friday in the Walter E. Baird and Sons Funeral Home, Wayland, for Mrs. Nettie A. Crouch Sterner, 87, of Cohocton who died Wednesday (Nov. 18, 1981) in Noyes Memorial Hospital following a long illness.

Born in New York City, she had lived in Cohocton most of her life. She was a member of the Cohocton Presbyterian Church and its Phirithia Class and was a member of the Cohocton Grange.

Surviving are a son, Myron of Cohocton; a daughter, Anna Mae Parks of Atlanta; five grand-children and four great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Clearview Cemetery, North Cohocton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cohocton Presbyterian Church or the Atlanta Presbyterian Church.


[Notation: Nettie was born the 30th of July 1894 in New York City, married 1st, Raymond Crouch, who predeceased her on the 25th of April 1972.]
