Mrs Anna Stumborg
Mrs Anna Stumborg died last Friday after an illness of only a few days, suffering from inflammation of the bowels. She took sick on Sunday while visiting her mother and sisters here, but feeling better on Monday she returned to her home in Effingham. Here she took worse. Everything possible was done alleviate her suffering, but she breathed her last as stated above. The remains were brought here Saturday afternoon, the funeral taking place from the Catholic Church and the interment being in the Cemetery here. She leaves to mourn their loss a loving husband and one child, a boy, a mother, several sisters and brothers, who followed the remains to their last resting place.
Anna Stumborg, was the daughter of Henry and Catherine Wernsing and was born in Teutopolis on March 28th 1876. She obtained her early school education here. She was married to Joe Stumborg on Jan. 18, 1898 in the German Catholic, Church at Newton, Illinois. This union was blessed with one child, a boy. She and her husband made their home at Effingham since their marriage. She was of a jovial disposition and had a pleasant word for all. To know her was to like her. May she rest in peace.
