Robert Dale "Buck" Shanks, 54, of Greensburg, passed away at 5:24 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Morning Breeze in Greensburg. He was born June 21, 1960 in Batesville, the son of Nelson D. and Genieva Marie (Noyes) Shanks. He was raised in Greensburg and was a self-employed tree trimmer. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his daughter, Summer Dawn Tabor of Okeechobee; Florida, his sisters, Cathy Morrow of Greensburg, Rosie Shanks of Okeechobee, Florida and Ruby Baker of Jemison, Alabama and his brother, Earl Shanks of Anderson, Indiana; companion, Debby Kress of Greensburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Caroline Oliphant, Roberta Powers and Romona Kennedy; brothers: Sonny Shanks and James Shanks.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Rev. Lee Creech officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 3 until 5 p.m. on Friday before the service at the funeral home.
