Norman Duerden Banks, returned to our Heavenly Father on September 23, 2006. Surrounded by his loving family at his home in Enoch, Utah.

Norman was born June 11, 1926 in Provo, Utah to Burtred Earl Banks and Luciel Duerden Banks. He graduated from Montebello High School in California in 1944. He also served in the Army Air Corps. During World War II. He was stationed at Clarke Field and Subic Bay in the Philippines.

When he returned home from serving in the military he then served in the Eastern State Mission. He then returned home to fall in love with Joyce Gail Davies. They were sealed in the St. George Utah Temple, on Nov. 16, 1954.

During their time together they were blessed with nine children. Joyce Di Ann (Bruce) Roberts Nancy Gail (David) Lake Norman Dee (Angel) Banks Lynda Marie (Eric) Reyes Ron Lee (Missy) Banks Darla Jean (Daniel) Stauffer he was ordained a high priest and set apart as a bishop of the La Puente ward in West Covina sake byi Spencer W. Kimball on Feb. 3, 1963. Norman also held many callings in the church.

His final calling was making the Sacrament bread. after 35 1/2 years of working for NCR he retired, he then moved back to Utah where he considered that home. While being retired Norman and Joyce served two missions together. One was in Indiana, Indianapolis Mission, then the second was the Philippines Cabanatuan Mission.

Norman was always a very active man in whatever he did. His family or his yard. He took great pride in his beautiful garden. If he wasn't at church then you could find him out back playing in his garden. Norman's biggest love and dedication was for his wife Joyce and there children. And for his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren he had had a very special relationship with each and every one of them. Norman was also very dedicated to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints.

Preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Alice and Clarice. One loving brother Willard and two sons, William Earl, Michael David, one daughter Mary Elizabeth and one granddaughter, Shaunna Rochelle.
