NEWPORT NEWS - Margaret C. McGrath, 78, died Sunday, Aug. 18, in her home.
Ms. McGrath was a native of Panama and had been a Peninsula resident for 51 years.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Newport News, and was past chairman of her church circle. She was also a member of the Newport News Womans Club, and was a past Contact Peninsula volunteer.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jane Stone of Yorktown; a son, William M. McGrath III of Midlothian; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Weymouth Funeral Home by the Rev. Walter Kennedy. Burial will be in Peninsula Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight in the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Contact Peninsula or the American Heart Association.
