Hope M. Zelhart, 75, of Bonfield, passed away Sunday (March 6, 2016) at her home. She was born Aug. 8, 1940, in Chicago, the daughter of Fred and Ethel Smith Davis. Hope married Roy D. Zelhart on Sept. 1, 1955, in Kankakee. He preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 2006. Hope was a homemaker. Surviving are her sons, Laurence (Roxanne) Zelhart, of Bourbonnais, and Roy E. (Georgie Collins) Zelhart, of Bonfield; daughters, Patricia (Dale) Gray, of Clifton, Marjorie (James Elliott) Fear, of Fort Wayne, Ind., Pamela (David) Wolford, of west Kankakee, and Anna (Donn) Kane, of Bourbonnais; 12 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Owens, of Kankakee; and sister-in-law, Jean Clutz, of Buckingham. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Georgia Cremer. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the noon funeral services at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home in Kankakee, with deacon Patrick Skelly officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Cemetery, Kankakee. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley. -Kankakee Daily Journal, March 9, 2016.
