Everett "Willie" Allen, 76, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Augusta Health in Fishersville. He was born in Nelson County, VA on March 2, 1940, son of the late W. Raymond and Mary M. (Fitzgerald) Allen. He was a self employed logger and most recently worked at Crown Hardwood Company in Fairfield, VA. Everett was an avid bear hunter and was a charter member of the Blue Ridge Bear and Coon Club, the Level Green Hunt Club, and the Silver Creek Hunt Club in Nelson County.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Manley T. and Wesley E. Allen; in-laws Erby and Maxine Loan; and a brother in law, Clinton D. Loan. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kathy Loan Allen, whom he married on July 31, 1980; 2 daughters June E. Cline and Treva E. Massie and husband Jimmy; 1 grandson, Randall E. Cline; 2 sisters, Brenda K. Allen and Faye D. Humphries and husband Jimmie; 1 brother Roger C. Allen and wife Pat, all of Stuarts Draft. He is also survived by a special great niece, Kristi McCray, whom he adored; and other numerous nieces and nephews. Everett's life was filled with many friends, whom he cherished.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 11, 2016 at McDow Funeral Home, 1701 West Main Street, Waynesboro with Pastor Earl Monroe and Reverend Dennis Bradley officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Active and honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
