MINERAL RIDGE - Alice Carol Humphrey, 61, 1392 Salt Springs Road, passed away at 4:04 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born Sept. 27, 1948, in Ypsilanti, Mich., a daughter of Leonard and Elizabeth Pauline Cline Humphrey, and moved to this community in 1952.

A 1966 graduate of Mineral Ridge High School, she retired in 1998 after working 30 years at Packard Electric Company and was a member of Apostolic Pentecostal Church. An avid shopper, she enjoyed traveling and making crafts.

She is survived by her mother, E. Pauline Humphrey, with whom she lived; four sisters, Susan (Douglas) Brown of Niles, Deborah (John) Burleson of Niles, Linda (Ronald) Oliver of Mineral Ridge, Theresa Sammartino of Youngstown; brother, L. Duane (Susan) Humphrey of Jamestown, Pa.; 17 nieces and nephews, Rebekah Wall, Michael Lusby, David Osborn, Shannon Brown, Rachel Bell, Helen Osborn, Catharine Osborn, Eric Humphrey, David Lusby, Steven Osborn, Christopher Sammartino, Jesse Sammartino, Megan Feldhouse, Jennifer Feldhouse, Christopher Oliver, Amanda Kripcak and 15 great-nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Apostolic Pentecostal Church, DeForest Road, where family and friends may also call one hour prior to services. Pastor Douglas Brown will officiate. Burial will be at Kerr Cemetery.
