Lewisville - Funeral services for Verner Lee Pruitt, 78, of 820 N. Cowan in Lewisville will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Lewisville. The Reverend Delbert Holley and the Reverend C. P. Mercer will officiate. Burial will be at Grapevine City Cemetery.
Mr. Pruitt died Saturday at Flow Memorial Hospital.
He was born February 29, 1896, in Colbert, Oklahoma. The World War I veteran was a member of the Baptist Church. He married Faye McCommas in Lewisville in 1923.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Laverne Morris and Geneva Davis, both of Irving; three sons, Robert Pruitt of Austin, Earl Ray Pruitt of Euless and Johnny Pruitt of Lewisville; one sister, Lula Mae Braden of Lewisville; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
