A Lexington native, he was the son of the late Ray Curtis and Gladys Dale Carter Curtis.
He was a driver for Lexington Cartage.
Survivors, other than his wife, include: three daughters, Teresa (James) Burge, Nicholasville, Tabitha (Evgeni) Nabokov, San Jose, CA, and Tracy (Johnny) Eckler-Adams; one son, John Robert Eckler, Jr., Lexington; three grandchildren, two brothers, Jimmy Eckler, Tampa, FL and Billy Eckler, Lexington; and two sisters, Charliene Norris, Salvisa, and Sherry Kiger, Lexington.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, September 11, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Rev. Katherine Redmond.
Entombment will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.
