Geraldine Mae Comstock passed away peacefully with family members by her side at the age of 91 on March 3, 2016.

Geri, as she was known by her friends and family, was born on April 10, 1924, in Grants Pass, Ore., to Velsie and William C. Ainsworth. She was the eldest of six daughters.

Her family moved to Tulelake, Calif., in 1929 and purchased Westside Grocery in 1939. Growing up, Geri attended Winema Grade School and Tulelake High School. She owned and operated the Westside Grocery and RV Park in Tulelake for over 40 years. Geri enjoyed bowling and needlework and was a great cook. Her most treasured moments were when surrounded by family during special occasions or holidays.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carlton Ransom (Lum); her second husband, Paul E. Comstock; two sisters, Betty Jones and Claudia Marcon, and a daughter, Nancy Behrendt.

Geri is survived by eight children, Richard Comstock (Dick), William Ransom (Bill), Ruth Winnicki, Mary Jones, Donna Thomas, Sharon Watson, Marilyn Comstock and Paula Marcoux; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
