Charles A. Povich, 61, of 610 McKinley Avenue, Washington (formerly of Jefferson) died at 1 a.m. Sunday, August 24, 1975, at Bridgeville, after a long illness.

Born May 16, 1914, at Marianna, he was the son of the late John and Frances Puskarich Povich.

Mr. Povich was a retired coal miner who worked in the mines for 23 years. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II at New Guinea.

Mr. Povich spent most of his life in the Jefferson-Clarksville area until the last three years when he made his home with his sister, Mrs. Julia Lobozzo of Washington. He was a member of the Filer-Sadlek Post 954 of the American Legion and the Croatian Lodge 633 at Mather.

Surviving are a step-mother, Mrs. Anna Povich of Jefferson; three brothers, Albert Povich of Dearborn, Mich., Louis Povich of Buffalo, N.Y., and George Povich of Youngstown, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Hughes of San Pueblo, California, Mrs. Julia Lobozzo of Washington and several nieces and nephews.
