Mary G. Colton, 88, of Rutland, died Jan. 6, 2011, at Mountain View Center.

She was born in Hartford, Conn., Oct. 11, 1922, the daughter of Thomas and Marguerite (Magauley) Gilligan.

She married William H. "Bill" Colton in 1978 in Granby, Conn. He died in 2008.

Mrs. Colton was employed by Aetna Life Insurance Co. in Hartford, Conn.

She attended Ira Baptist Church.

Survivors include two grandsons, Michael Colton of Ira and Christopher Colton of Rutland Town, and a great-granddaughter.

She was also predeceased by a brother, Thomas Gilligan.

The graveside service will be held at a later date.
