Jeanne E. Fischer, 91 of Galion went to be with the Lord Wednesday evening, March 9, 2016 at Mill Creek Nursing Center in Galion.
She was born June 14, 1924 in Mt. Carmel, Illinois and was the daughter of Robert Harry and Ida Marie (Fearheily) Windes. On April 12, 1942 Jeanne married Herman W. Fischer and they enjoyed nearly 67 years of marriage until his passing on February 13, 2009.
She was the manager of Deans Family Store when it was in uptown Galion. Jeannie was a very active member of Grace Brethren Church in Galion. She enjoyed reading and especially cherished the time she spent with her family and church family.
Jeanne is survived by children Kay (Larry) Wipert of Galion and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Fischer of Springboro, Ohio; seven grandchildren Eric Fischer, Ryan (Ashley) Fischer, Joshua (Katie) Cousins, Megan Fischer, Jenny Cline, Amy Alberty and Cathy Yetter; 11 great-grandchildren and a sister Irma (William) Ballard of Mt. Carmel, Illinois.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son W. Michael Fischer; a sister Helen Clevenger and an infant brother.
