Geneseo, Ill. - JOHN B. "JACK" PARK, 80, of Geneseo, Ill., died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, in Hammond Henry Hospital, Geneseo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Malachy's Catholic Church, Geneseo, with the Rev. Michael Pakula officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo, under direction of Vandemore Funeral Home Ltd.
A Scripture service will be held at the funeral home at 7:45 p.m. Friday.
Jack was born Nov. 21, 1925, in Prophetstown, Ill., the son of Gilbert and Ella Egert Park. He was a graduate of Geneseo High School. He served his country in the Army during World War II.
Jack married Shirley Causemaker on May 26, 1951, in Atkinson, Ill. He was employed by John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline, as an assembler for 40 years until he retired in 1983. Jack was a member of St. Malachy's Catholic Church, Geneseo Moose Lodge No. 990, Catholic Order of Foresters, NRA, and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5083.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; three daughters and spouses, Cheryl and Kevin Cordon of East Moline, Patricia and Greg Winegardner of Duncan, Okla., and Paula and Todd Steffens of DeWitt, Iowa; three sons and spouses, Michael and Carol Park, Gary and Connie Park, and Tim "Butch" and Penny Park, all of Geneseo; 10 grandchildren and spouses, Justin and Kim Park, Jodi and Morrie DePorter, Dan and Jenny Park, Noah and Jacob Park, Rob DeLaRosa, Kaylee Chiavario, Alex Luedtke and Max Steffens; three great-grandchildren, Joey and Ryan DePorter, and Leah Park; two sisters and spouse, Marguerite and Ralph DeBlieck, and Phyllis Gibler, all of Geneseo; and a brother and spouse, Bob and Bonnie Park of Atkinson, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Mildred Kelley and Jen Lackey.
