Nancy Rookhuyzen, 82, passed away in Klamath Falls, Ore., on March 7, 2016.

Nancy was born on Dec. 26, 1933, in Chester, Ill. She moved at the ripe age of 17 to California, where she became a nurse's aide for the VA hospital and met the love of her life, Loyal "Rocky" Rookhuyzen, who she married in the fall of 1955. They moved to Klamath Falls in 1963 when Rocky purchased an 88-acre farm that became the lifeblood of a family for generations to come.

She was an avid member of the relief society for the LDS church. As an environmentalist, she loved everything about the outdoors, especially her beloved trees. This obsession with the environment lead to her collecting seeds that she found around her farm, hoping to eventually plant them into the Earth again.

She is survived by her adoring husband, Rocky of Klamath Falls, and her siblings, Jerry Allen of Arkansas and Emeline Hazel of Arizona, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
