Irene Sarrah (Bearce) Kauth died peacefully at Havana Health Care Center on March 11, 2016 in Havana, Il. at the age of 94.
Irene was born January 29, 1922 in Havana to Harvey and Margaret (Hagney) Tarvin. She married Albert L. Bearce in Lewistown, Il. on March 4th, 1938. They had 4 children. She later married James V. Kauth in May of 1976 in Havana. He preceded her in death.

The last couple of years she lived at Riverview Estates in Havana where she enjoyed Kristie and her employees and making new friends. She liked looking out to the Illinois River, especially at night to see the lighted tow boats and barges heading down the river. She enjoyed gardening and took pleasure in sharing starts of her ivy plant to anyone who wanted one. She also enjoyed reading, quilting, wood craving and bird watching.

Irene was a life member for the VFW Auxiliary 6208 and the American Legion. She was past Noble Grand for the Rebekah Lodge.

Irene is survived by her sons, Terry (Barbara) Bearce of ME. Wm. Greg (Susie) Bearce of Browning, Il., 8 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Tarvin, daughter Barbara Bohler and infant daughter Linda Kay.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 14th at 2:15 PM at Laurel Hill Cemetery with visitation from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM at Hurley Funeral Home. Jame Hahs will officiate the service. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Havana or to the activity fund at Riverview Estates, Havana.
