Bennett W. Adams, 80, died Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at the Medical Center. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2006 at Edgewood Presbyterian Church with Rev. Paul Coats officiating. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus. Mr. Adams was born January 7, 1926 in Macon, Ga., son of the late Emily Massey Adams and Sherwood W. Adams. He was a retired owner of Columbus Janitorial Service and Columbus Remodeling Co. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was an active member of Edgewood Presbyterian Church and was affiliated with Hominey Baptist Church in Candler, N.C. He loved spending his summers in the mountains of western North Carolina. He is survived by his wife, Mary B. Adams of Columbus, Ga.; daughter, Eugenia A. Whitfield and husband Robert of Braselton, Ga., her children, Eli Whitfield, Bethlehem, Ga., Dawn W. Leder, Alpharetta, Ga. and Tara W. Qatsha, Roswell, Ga.; sons, Bennett W. Adams, Jr. and wife Patti of Pelham, Ga., his children, Katy Adams Holton and husband Virgil of Camilla, Ga., Lacy Adams and fiance Ray Dixon of Valdosta, Ga.; sister, Marlene A. Baldwin of Smithfield, Ut
