Dorothy Favors Akin January 21, 1921- October 28, 2005 COLUMBUS, GA— Dorothy Favors Akin, 84, of Columbus, died Friday October 28, 2005 at her residence. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday November 1, 2005 at Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Ken Pew officiating. Visitation will be held Monday Evening from 6-8 PM at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA. Mrs. Akin was born January 1, 1921 in Macon, GA to the late William Homer Favors and the late Allie Bradshaw Favors. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church in Stone Mountain, GA. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Herman Steven Akin; son, Joel Akin and wife Dianne of Medford, Oregon; and several nieces and nephews.
