Kate Barton was originally buried in the Sandy Hill Cemetery in Paterson, New Jersey. Her remains, along with those of her grandparents and brother, were removed from Sandy Hill and buried in the Barton family plot at Cedar Lawn on April 15, 1887.
Note: Although the family monument states that Kate Barton died on August 27, 1863, another historical document relates that Kate died on August 25, 1863, two days earlier than the date on the stone.
