Addie Lee Davis Milner, age 102, of Bartlesville, died Thursday, March 10, 2016 in her home. Addie Lee was born June 10, 1913 in McAlester, the firstborn daughter of Dr. James Edward Davis and Byrdie Mary Bailey Davis. She was a member of the Mother Assembly of the Order of Rainbow for Girls. She graduated from McAlester High School in 1930 and attended Ward Belmont College for Women in Nashville, Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in public school music. She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma social sorority, of which she was social chairman for two years. She was also a member of Sigma Alpha Iota National Honorary Music Fraternity. She was ROTC Queen at OU in 1934. She taught school in Anadarko, Seminole, and McAlester; and later was a substitute teacher for ten years. She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in McAlester where she served as Superintendent of the Junior High Department for many years along with being a Sunday School teacher. She was vice president of the Home Economics Department of the Fortnightly Club, a member of Arts and Humanities Council, and the Oklahoma Heritage Foundation. She was a master in the art of needlepoint and found pleasure in bridge. Addie Lee enjoyed visiting with people and never met a stranger. She married Wayne Milner on June 6, 1936, and they celebrated 73 years of marriage. She was a devoted homemaker and gave a lifetime of care to her family. In later years, she moved to Green Country Village in Bartlesville to be near her daughter. Addie Lee was a very enthusiastic Sooner and Thunder Fan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister and brother-in-law: Mildred and Charles Richard, her brother-in-law and wife: Paul & Ann Milner, brother-in-law: John Nichols, and nephew: Randy Davis. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016 at McAlester First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bill Westmoreland officiating. A family committal service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery prior to the funeral. Arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.
