Jacob M. Trout, seventy-seven, Landisville, died at his home Saturday afternoon of infirmities of old age. He is survived by his wife, Mary Catherine Stauffer Trout; one daughter, Mary Catherine Baker, and two grandchildren.
He was a son of the late Jacob S. and Fannie E. Trout, and was engaged for several years in the coal, lumber, sand and feed business. Later he was associated with the Old Guard Mutual Fire and storm Insurance Company, and served as its secretary and as president. For nearly 30 years he was a director of the Lancaster County National Bank. He retired from active business participation several years ago.
For a number of years he was a champion croquet player in this region, fostering the sport in this county.
Services will be held at his home tomorrow at 2:30 P. M. Interment will be in the Landisville Mennonite cemetery. Friends may call at the home this evening, from 7 to 9 o'clock.
