Joan Elizabeth Scohy Roush, 94, died peacefully January 21, 2014 at Camden Clark Hospital in Parkersburg, WV.
Joan was born June 29, 1919 to Nestor Richard Scohy and Florence Mae Sine Scohy in Sistersville, WV.

She grew up in Sistersville and graduated from Sistersville High School and the Charleston School of Commerce. Joan was married to Bill Roush for over 60 years who preceded her in death in 1997. Joan lived in St. Albans, WV for most of her adult life and retired from Du Pont in Belle, WV after 39 years. Joan had an exceptionally sharp mind and an even bigger heart. She loved people and never met a stranger.
Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Lewis Scohy and Richard Francis Scohy. Joan is survived by nieces and nephews and many friends who love her dearly.
Services will be held at Snodgrass Funeral Home, South Charleston, at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 24th, 2014. Visitors will be welcome one hour before the service with Pastor Barbara Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, WV.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Kanawha / Charleston Humane Association, 1248 Greenbrier Street, Charleston, WV 25311.
