ELLER, James Wilkerson ‘Jim'

James Wilkerson ‘Jim' Eller, 77, native area resident, was found dead near Ochelata on Tuesday afternoon.

Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday at the Ramona Cemetery with Roman Ward, Jr. officiating. The Fisk Leffler-American Legion Post #334 will accord military rites at the graveside. Committal prayers and interment will be under the direction of the Arnold Moore Funeral Service.

Mr. Eller will lie in state in the drawing rooms of Arnold Moore Funeral Residence where friends may call for their visitation until he is moved for graveside rites on Monday afternoon

An Oklahoma native, Mr. Eller was born on July 8, 1918, in Dewey, Washington County, Oklahoma to John Everett and Stella Adaline (Wiley) Eller. He was reared and received his education in Dewey. He married Margaret Louise Montgomery in 1939 in Bartlesville.

He enlisted in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed at Smokey Hill Air Force Base in Salina, Kansas, as an airplane mechanic. He received an honorable discharge. He then married Alice Melrose (Luster) Sagel on November 14, 1952, in Nowata and they established their home in Ochelata. They lived briefly in Hominy before returning to Ochelata where they have since made their home. At the time of his death he was active as a mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Melrose (Luster) Eller, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Loren (Barbara Eloise) Jones of rural Bartlesville, Mrs. Harry (Sonya Lee) Smith of Norman and Alice Marie Eller of Kansas City, Missouri; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Charles (Frances Sagel) McGuire of Bartlesville and Mrs. James (Vivian Sagel) King of Bartlesville; three stepsons, Keith Sagel of rural Nowata, Emerson Sagel of Louisiana and George Sagel of Bartlesville; 19 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Willa Mae (Eller) Case of Dewey, Oklahoma Mrs. Robert (Betty Eller) Brockhouse of Kansas City, Missouri and Mrs. Barbara L. ‘Bobbie' (Eller) Anderson of Champagne, Illinois and one brother Everett Eller of Bartlesville.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Alma Mae Eller and a sister, Helen (Eller) Bartlett.
