Richard was the son of the late Raymond Dewey and Wilma Leslie Williams Comer. He was married to Rachael Holder. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Doris T. Bernardo and Margaret Ann Thomas, and brothers, Russell D. Comer, Charles G. Comer, and Roger W. Comer. He was survived by his daughter, Rhonda Sue Holland; sons, Richard L. Comer, Jr., and Randal "Randy" V. Comer; four grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
