TAMASSEE — Henry Grady Burrell, 75, of 435 Tamassee Knob Road, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at the Oconee Memorial Hospital.

Born in Oconee County, he was the son of the late James Garfield and Minerva Kelley Burrell. He was a retired nursing assistant and was of the Church of God faith. He served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II.

Surviving are nieces; and nephews.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He was preceded death by six brothers, Lawrence, Holleman, Homer, Lemmie, J.C. and Verner Burrell; and two sisters, Bertha B. Hopknis and Zadie B. Meece.

Graveside services are at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Cherry Hill Church of God; burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Davenport Funeral Home prior to the graveside service.

The family will be their respective homes.
