Mr. Redelsperger was born June 23, 1923 in Gould, Oklahoma. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1943 and after a brief period was discharged for medical reasons. He married Colleen Terrel on July 7, 1945 and in 1946 moved to Tehachapi. For 35 years he was employed as a chemical analyst with Monolith Cement Company from which he retired in 1984. Mr. Redelsperger enjoyed working with children and at various times was involved with the Babe Ruth and Little League clubs, 4-H, and he also served as a scout master for cub scouts. He was a member of the Kern Council Of Government, American Legion and formerly, a member of the Lions Club. He was a leader in our community who was very civic minded. From April 21, 1970 to April 20, 1982, he was on the Tehachapi City Council. Mr. Redelsperger served as mayor of Tehachapi from March 9, 1976 toApril 20, 1982. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ.

Mr. Redelsperger is survived by his wife of 48 years, Colleen Redelsperger of Tehachapi; sons: Pastor Lawrence Robert Redelsperger Jr of Puyallup, WA, Randy and Karl Redelsperger both of Tehachapi; daughter, Mary Cantrell of Tehachapi, seven grandchildren; brothers: George, Clancy, Harvey and Carl Redelsperger; sisters: Louise Billington, Lydia Roberts, Edna Beautrow, Lily McEndree, Viola Reavis, and Kathe Searcey.
