Springfield philanthropist and civic worker. Daughter of Dr. John Hardtner and Fannie B. Hardtner. Graduate of the Bettie Stuart institute and received her college education from private tutors. Married Ira Burton Blackstock in 1897.

She was the treasurer of the northwestern branch of the Woman's Foreign Missionary society, trustee of the First Methodist church, president and Board of Trustees member of the Springfield YWCA, president of King's Daughters Home for eight years, director of Springfield Goodwill Industries, member of Springfield Art Association, Washington Street mission and Illinois Church council. She was one of the individuals responsible for the establishment of Memorial Hospital. She also was the first woman to be elected a trustee of DePauw University, and served as MacMurray College and Illinois Wesleyan University trustee.

Mrs. Blackstock donated the funds to build Blackstock Stadium and athletic field at DePauw University in memory of her husband. Donor of the Hardtner swimming pool at MacMurray College, and Blackstock Hall and Arts Center at Illinois Wesleyan University. She also financed the college educations of a number of young people.

She was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution, was honorary member of Delta Kappa Gamma Educational society and First Methodist Church.
