Raymond H Edwards, 86 years old retired farmer and carpenter died Monday morning at Stevens Manor Care Center, Stevens R1, where he had lived for four months.
He had been a Clay Township supervisor for eight years.
Mr Edwards was a member of Mellinger's Lutheran Church, Schoeneck, where he was a former church councilman.
He was a member of the Baron Stiegel Lions Club, Brickerville, for 35 years, and had perfect attendance at club meetings for 21 years. He had served as club president.
Mr Edwards also was a former member of the board of Mellinger's Cemetery Association.
Born in and a lifelong resident of Clay Township, he was the son of the late Ella Edwards Ruth and was the husband of Edna G Jacoby Edwards who died in 1969.
He is survived by three children; John J, Ephrata; Luther J, Ephrata R1; and Ella Mae, wife of Gordon J Rayner, Savannah, Ga; 10 grand children; and 5 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are four half-sisters; Irene Ruth and Sadie Weik, both of Ephrata; and Anna, wife of Arthur Loose, and Ella, wife of Ivan Eshleman, both of Akron; and two half-brothers, Enos Ruth and Miles Ruth, both of Lititz.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Mellinger's Church, with interment in the adjoining cemetery."
