D. Patrick Dies From Gun Wound
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church for Alan Douglas (Doug) Patrick, 24, 1113 Taylor Ave., who was found dead of a gunshot wound Sunday near Verdigre.
James Landrum, pastor of the church, will officiate, and burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. The body will lie in state Wednesday from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Howser Mortuary.
Patrick was apparently on a deer hunting trip at the time of his death. The incident is under investigation by the Knox County sheriff's department.
Patrick was born Sep. 20, 1950, at Tilden to Milan and Ramona Patrick and spent most of his life in Norfolk. He was a partner with Deon Deuel in a carpet installation company.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Milan Jr. (Bob), who was accidently shot in 1968.
Surviving are his wife, the former Linda Korth; one daughter, Kelly; his parents of Norfolk, one brother and three sisters, Jim Patrick, Mrs. Deon (Pat) Deuel, Mrs. Gary (Kathleen) Rabbass and Mrs. Lyle (Sue) Weyhrich, all of Norfolk; and his grandparents, Mrs. Lotus Patrick of Norfolk and Mr. and Mrs. John Stark of Silverton, Ore.
